Job overview: Manage the flow of parts purchased from the supplier base and control of the inventory from the supplier’s dock to our production lines by performing the following duties:
Essential duties and responsibilities: Plan and place purchase order for production components ensuring that parts are received in the quantity required, when needed; proactively and reactively manage and expedite component part shortages by identifying issues and internal problems.
Control number of days of inventory on hand by reducing lot sizes, increasing replenishment and shipping frequency, etc.
Executes cycle counts as proscribed by corporate schedules. Research all cycle count variances and identify and resolve waste and bill of material inaccuracies.
Communicate, coordinate and resolve quality problems. This includes reject disposition, non-conforming material and SCAR tracking. Coordinates resolution of supplier quality problems (commodity specialist, supplier, product lines and design engineering).
Monitor and approve non-standard component part usage. Maintain and control usage and replenishment of supply items.
Plan and organize space requirements for responsible commodities, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and two-four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required/Preferred Skills: Basic Microsoft Office required, Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills preferred. Skills on JD Edwards preferred.
Two-four years of materials scheduling experience; experience to Lean/CI principles/practices preferred.
