Manchester's Recreation Complex has reopened a majority of the activity departments with certain hours and guidelines being enforced in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The new hours for the Manchester Recreation Complex are 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Manchester's Parks and Recreation Department contains 104 acres of park land. The department offers a 69,000 square feet indoor recreation center containing two indoor pools, an outdoor leisure pool, racquetball courts, wellness room, spin room, youth wellness room, aerobics, gymnasium, walking track and casual care nursery.
The department is following safety guidelines presented by the CDC and national, state and local health department ordinances, and reminding individuals who enter the complex to maintain social distancing.
"For the purposes of these guidelines, the term “attractions, large venues and large community events” means any venue (indoor or outdoor), facility, or place of interest which offers leisure, amusement, or entertainment activities," states the Tennessee Pledge for attractions, large venues and community events. "Despite hosting a large number of people on-site at any one time, such venues should operate in a manner such that persons from different households or small groups are able to substantially maintain 6 feet of separation from other persons or small groups outside their own group during their visit. These venues could include, for example, concert and performing arts venues, amusement and water parks, fairs, festivals, expos, parades, auditoriums, theaters and dinner theaters, zoos, museums, convention centers, roller or ice skating rinks, and sporting event venues."
Manchester's Recreation Complex is currently only allowing residents of Coffee County who have a membership with the complex to enter the facility.
