Re-entry plans for Coffee County area schools announced
Schools within the Coffee County area have officially issued their reentry plans for the 2020-21 school year.
Manchester City Schools, Tullahoma City Schools and Coffee County Schools collaborated to begin the 2020-2021 school year.
Tullahoma City schools will reopen Wednesday, July 29. Manchester City Schools will open Aug. 3 from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. The first full student day will be Aug. 5. Coffee County Schools will also reopen Aug. 5.
Families will have an opportunity to choose between in-person classes and an online learning option.
School COVID Guidelines:
Families need to check their child’s temperature before sending them to school. Temperatures at or above 100.4 are considered elevated, and students need to remain at home.
Temperature checks will occur prior to students entering the schools. Staff temperature checks will occur daily.
Every school has a designated COVID holding area where students can be isolated who are symptomatic and waiting to see the nurse or be picked up by parents.
Social distancing will be maximized in all classes. Seating arrangements will be made to minimize potential exposure.
Frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned throughout the day.
Masks are highly encouraged. Masks are an article of clothing and must follow dress code.
Adjustments will be made to space out students in common areas as they arrive at school, during lunches, and dismissal.
Outside visitors will be limited. Visitors will be required to have a temperature check upon entering the building and will be strongly encouraged to wear a mask.
Cafeteria COVID Guidelines:
Students will be eating in alternative locations on a rotating basis in order to maximize social distancing in cafeterias.
Meals will not be self-serve. Meals will either be in contained portions or served by cafeteria staff.
Cafeteria staff will wear masks or shields and gloves.
Cafeteria/custodial staff will continue to sanitize between meals.
