Warren County suffers 1st COVID death
NHC HealthCare of McMinnville reported its first COVID-19 death on Saturday, placing Warren County on the growing list of communities with a corona virus fatality.
The NHC coronavirus outbreak was first reported by the facility on Tuesday. At that time, NHC reported 15 patients and 3 employees had tested positive for the virus.
In figures updated Saturday on the NHC HealthCare website, it says 18 patients have tested positive, 9 employees have tested positive, and there has been 1 death.
NHC has declined to comment on the outbreak, telling the Standard to check the NHC website for the latest figures.
Warren County has been hit with soaring coronavirus numbers over the past eight days and now has 123 confirmed cases, according to the Tennessee Department of Health in its daily update on Saturday.
Warren County had 69 confirmed cases on July 2, giving the county a 78.2% increase of confirmed COVID-19 cases in eight days.
